Why are birds eggs of different colours and patterns?
Different birds live in different climates and different regions on the earth. Learning about each species of birds is a long process. One thing that ornithologists (scientists who study birds) have found is, that different birds lay eggs of different colours and patterns. Eggs are in white, blue, green, yellow or red-brown or other colours. Further, they have a pattern of spots, streaks or blotches specific to each species. Even you might have noticed these varied patterns and colours but have you ever wondered why and how does this happen?
