Why are bills mailed so late?

While it may seem that the bills are “late”, there are various reasons for why bills are printed and mailed when they are. Please know we do everything we can to get these out to students and their families in as timely fashion as possible. Note that once a student registers they can see their bill online through Online Student Services. This online bill should give the student a good estimate of their costs for the term indicated. Tuition statements can change based on the addition or deletion of credits, changes in housing or meal plans, and the setting of tuition rates by the Board of Governors. Financial aid courtesy credits may change as well based on the same factors. For Fall bills, note tuition rates (not fees) are set by the Board of Governors when they meet in mid-July. Once they decide the tuition rates, we begin printing and mailing bills immediately for Fall term – generally the end of July with a due date in early August.
