Why are BELLATAIRE Diamonds primarily fancy shapes?
As rare Type IIa diamonds, BELLATAIRE Diamonds are defined as “nitrogen free”. The absence of nitrogen during the growth of diamond crystals allows these stones to grow more freely than the 99% of all diamonds that do contain nitrogen. Consequently, Type IIa diamonds are often found in irregular shapes more suitable for cutting fancies than rounds.
