Why are Australia and New Zealand listed as one country?
The Australian Constitution allows New Zealand to become part of Australia as another State. No referendum is necessary in Australia to do this but one is necessary in New Zealand. As soon as the Kiwis want to join us, they can. They’ll start winning cricket matches if they do. As far as Yahoo Answers is concerned, Australia and New Zealand are often considered together as a holiday destination for overseas travellers so linking them is fine.
