All lasers work by destroying hair follicles which are in their active growth cycle at the time of treatment. Hair follicles in their “resting may have no hair shaft in them and so will not be affected by the laser. The fine vellus peach fuzz follicles which have little pigment and so are not effectively treated by laser. Some of these fine little peach fuzz follicles may mature into terminal hair follicles later to produce thicker hairs which may appear to be regrowth. There is NO treatment which will kill 100% of the hair follicles, 100% of the time. All laser hair reduction requires multiple sessions to destroy a significantly large proportion of hairs to make a noticeable difference.
