Why are assignments due twice a week?
Assignments are made once a week, on Sunday night/Monday morning by e-mail. The course timeline on the course web site is to be used as a guide, but the weekly e-mails are the official assignments. Some of the assignments will be due by Wednesday night and some will be due by Saturday night. You can, of course, turn them in a day or two earlier, whatever works best for you. But please, do not work too far ahead. Keeping track of assignments is tough enough without someone working way out sequence. Assignments are due twice a week for two reasons: • To spread the work out so that you don’t absorb the information rather than just try to do too much in one short sitting. I want you to understand and think about the material, not simply do the work. • To keep my sanity. Typically, you will have five or six lecture assignments a week and possibly one or two homework assignments. If we settle on just seven assignments a week and multiply that by 30 people in the class, that’s 210 assignments
