Why are animal rights activists so upset about the seal hunt?

0

Most animal rights activists (the leadership, I should clarify) don’t care as much about the animals as they do about restricting the freedoms of humans. Think of them as anti-human, not pro-animal. It helps (a lot) that seals are cute. It makes the hunting of seals seem cruel. But it’s no more inhumane than hunting anything else. Very few of the same activists who would get upset at killing seals would bat an eyelash if we were talking about killing roaches. Whether it is cruel to kill animals or not is another issue. It could be argued that since animals have nerve endings they can feel pain, but then it can also be argued that there are quick and painless ways of killing animals.
