Why are Americans so ignorant of other cultures?

0

It is because successive American governments for the last 80 years have sought to limit education in America and thus create a society that is insular and therefore more easily controlled by the government and the media empires they work with. If an economy is almost entirely based upon the usurpation of the resources of other countries…. then that economy would not be best served by the population having any knowledge or more importantly, any sympathy, understanding or compassion for the source of the wealth. American society is the opposite of many American individuals. it is just one of the great anomalies that greets the visitor to that country. I get nothing but politeness, kindness and respect from American people whenever I go there… but I also experience an almost complete ignorance about the rest of the world. Well educated Americans show not the least embarrassment about not knowing where Greece is… whereas in Britain we would be shamefaced to admit such ignorance. Ame
