Why are American Universities SO MUCH MORE expensive and last another year?
American Universities actually charge MORE to International Students than they do to American folks and even less to those who live in the state the university is located. However a 45K education in the US is really rare and most folks (here) don’t pay that. And they certainly don’t (if they are smart) finance that. The local community college I live near charges only $3000 a year in tuition. A local University charges about $5000 a year. I also happen to be in an area that just started a “free college tuition” program to fund any high school graduate living in the county. My state also has a program that will pay for the full 4 years of college if they have a family income of less than $50,000 a year when they are a sophomore in high school and it doesn’t matter what their income is when they graduate.
