Why are all these ad hominem attacks coming against Ted Kennedy now that he is dead?

Because having a drunken accident that kills someone is bad enough, but when you leave the person to die so you can avoid a DUI is unforgivable. Now he is being praised, yet he was never punished. Maybe if punishment then some good works would have came later we might forgive ad hominem is a red herring to distract from important issues at hand, since he never was punished it is not a red herring because there was never closure on that issue in his life so he carries it to death. Ever heard someone who serves time in prison as being “someone who paid their debt” Kennedy can’t have that said about him. This doesn’t fit ad hominem as you are trying to use it because people are praising his service (relating it to his character) talking about what a good man he is and all the good he did, many, myself included feel a good man would own up to his mistakes. If a friend stole from me and we both knew it happened, if he didn’t apologies and return the money, him opening a door for me wouldn’t
