Why are Administrative Contacts changing to Account Technical Contacts?

We are enhancing Account Manager to provide greater control and flexibility for customers who manage domains across multiple accounts. In some cases account holders currently have different contacts for each domain. To ensure those contacts do not gain permissions to domains they did not previously have access to, they will all be assigned as Account Technical Contacts in June. Account Technical contacts in the new Account Manager will have the same permission levels as an Administrative contact had in the previous Account Manager. Account Technical Contacts can still configure and renew services in the account. No functionality has been lost for the previous Administrative contact. The new Account Administrative Contact will have additional permissions such as assigning and revoking account contacts and purchasing new services within an account.
