Actinomycetes are not equal to Actinobacteria Actinomycetes are only a genus of the phylum Actinobacteria. Other genera would be: Acidimicrobium, Rubrobacter, Actinobaculum, etc… The Actinobacteria is a huge phylum, comprising more than 40 families, from whom one only is Actinomycetaceae where you can find the genus in question in.
