why anybody would want to hunt deer on ft, knox kentucky?
Before you start planning a hunt on ft. knox you should learn that hunter succes percent is way low.IN most areas you’ll be hard pressed to see a deer and just as lucky to see someone who did.THE deer are mostly inbred and small bodied from years of over hunting. The few good areas there are set aside for a select few, you’ll find no food plots,or mineral licks to help the deer in low mast seasons. There is no evening hunt as you are required to be checked out of the areas just as the prime time is beginning. I started hunting there in 1964 back then you would see probably 30 deer a day,now you sit all day and never hear a shot fired. The managers of hunt control turn a deaf ear to those who are concerned about the ft. knox deer herd, as the areas they hunt are well cared for with the surplus from the sales of the average hunter .
