Why an IRT / NT integration ?
The advantages of automated trading are well known : trading decisions are made at a CPU speed without any emotional criteria orders are managed much quicker than what our poor finger controlled actions and nervous system may never achieve. NinjaTraders automation features allow you to create a link between your charting application and your broker. Here is how it works: some charting packages (like IRT) have the ability to create custom text files when a trading signal is triggered on a chart. In Automation mode, NT will regularly scan its installation directory for any new “Order Instruction Files”, ie a one line text file with some pre-determined name (like order.txt, adjust.txt, close.txt etc) and data format. As soon as a new OIF is detected, NT reads the instructions from the text file and automatically passes the order information to the broker.
