Why an all weather track?
• It can be used all year round • Local athletes can train on a national standard surface without having to travel long distances • It’s wheelchair-friendly • It would attract club and county competitions, drawing people and business to Penrith and the Eden Valley • It would attract individuals and businesses to the area • It fits in well with plans to improve the health and physical activity of people in the Eden area. • In future, Penrith could take pride in world-class athletes. The Eden Climbing Wall attracted two young climbers (Jason Kirkbride and Ian “Jungle” Hollows) who have been on the British Junior Climbing Team.
