American Manufacturers Association estimates that in 2006 more than $200 billion was spent on apparel, beauty and related products; To expose minority designers, apparel distributors and retailers to the powerful dollar of minority consumers. By doing so it will ultimately increase revenue in these businesses and as a sponsor within your organization also; To promote an informative, entertaining experience that will offer attendees access to learn more about apparel designed by and targeted to African Americans; To provide a network forum for participants and exhibitors; To recycle dollars within the community that spends billions of dollars on fashion and related products; To provide valuable information through seminars and panel discussions; 4 out of 240 designers featured at New York Fashion Week were African/African American; and, Black households’ buying power is climbing to an average $700 Billion annually (increasing avg. 3.5%).
