Why am I receiving the error message,”Cannot verify presence of the Hardware Key”?
The error message,”Cannot verify presence of hardware key” occurs when the security key is not connected to the computer on which A.D.A.M. Comprehensive is being run. The hardware key must be connected to the parallel printer port on the on the back of the computer while A.D.A.M. Comprehensive is in use. If the key is attached and you continue to have problems, please attempt these basic troubleshooting steps. • Turn off the computer and remove the key. • Check the key for any defects then place the key back on the parallel port. Do not reconnect any other parallel port device such as a printer. • Reboot the computer. • When Windows has finished loading, attempt to launch A.D.A.M. Comprehensive again. • If you do not receive the hardware key error, turn off the computer again, reconnect any parallel device, reboot the computer, and attempt to launch A.D.A.M.
