It is not possible to print a Code 128 check digit in the human readable portion of the bar code, because the check digit has the possibility of being a non printable character such as a space, tab or control character. If you need a check digit for your bar code to produce a visible character then you should create a custom check digit in addition to the symbology’s built-in check digit. This custom check digit can be generated using a VB script, which takes the bar code data as its input.
