Why am I having problems with the DeviceManager in the dual node demonstration?
Q. When trying to run the dual node demo, running DemoPlatformNode2Bootup on the second node does not work correctly. When I press Enter in the DemoPlatformNode2Bootup console to make it exit, I get the following error message “DeviceManager Reference was null cannot perform a proper shutdown”. A1. The reference to the DeviceManager is probably null because it cannot be found in the naming service. Make sure the orb.properties file of node 2 contains the following org.omg.CORBAORBInitialHost = IPAddressOfNode1 org.omg.CORBAORBInitialPort = 1050 A2. If you’re still having problems, check your ‘/etc/hosts’ file as indicated here.
