This is a common problem with firewire devices and the isight camera. It seems that the isight draws so much power from the firewire bus that is can cause transfer errors. I have even seen this with an ipod and an isight before. There isn’t a good work around except for getting an firewire pci card if you have a tower, or a pcmcia firewire card for a powerbook. With the imac models there isn’t anything you can do besides removing the isight when doing data transfer.
