Why am I getting Buffer Underrun Errors?
Buffer underruns are usually caused by some system limitation, a bottleneck, or an error in setup. They are very rarely caused by the recorder itself . Possible Causes: 1) Incorrect DMA settings (for CRW2100 & CRW2200 series EIDE models). 2) Read speed and/or digital audio extraction capabilities of other CD-ROM reader. 3) Trying to record directly from MP3 to audio disc using a slower computer. 4) Problems with background tasks. Remedies: 1) For the CRW2100 and CRW2200 series EIDE models only: If you are getting buffer underrun errors, make sure that DMA is on for the Yamaha and all other DMA capable devices on your system. For all other EIDE models: DMA is best left off, because on many controllers having DMA on for your CRW recorder may cause your system to freeze.
