Why am I being asked for a password when I have never used WebFile? Where do I go to create a password?

The password is created the first time a representative from the entity logs in to WebFile. If you are being asked for a password, then a password has already been established for the entity. You can press “Forgot Password” and reset the account if you know the security question and answer. If you do not know the answer to the security question, or you did not establish the password, contact the Comptroller’s Electronic Reporting Section at (800) 442-3453. You can also e-mail us at WebFileHelp@cpa.state.tx.us. You will need one of the following for security verification: the Total Revenue, payment amount from the previous return (if a payment was made), or the WebFile number.
