Why alternative insemination?
The use of alternative insemination has allowed couples or single women who would otherwise be unable to conceive to make the choice to become parents. Many women/couples find alternative insemination to be relatively inexpensive compared to other options like in vitro fertilization or adoption. The legalities of going through alternative insemination may be less challenging as well. Sometimes, men have histories that prevent them from being able to use their own sperm, such as testicular cancer, other fertility-impairing conditions, or other trauma. Using donor sperm can help families experience pregnancy and birth when they otherwise wouldn’t be able to.
