Why after installing eWall my mail server become an open relay?

0

Some mail servers (for example, ArGoSoft Mail Server) supports so-called ‘Trusted IP Addresses’. Among other privilegies, mail server skips the authentication, if connection is originated from trusted IP address. Since eWall is a proxy, and connects to mail server always from same address (for example, 127.0.0.1 loopback), make sure that eWall host IP is not listed in mail server Trusted IP Addresses. In any case, we suggest to move the Trusted IPs from mail server to eWall.
