Why advocate guiding the airflow? Is the airflow so important?
A typical swing speed is about 160km/h, imagine sitting in a car going 160km/h with the window open. You will feel a strong vibration from the airflow. The airflow passing over the top and the bottom of the car carries different pressure, and such a pressure differential causes shaking and vibration in the car. However, it can be assumed that when a car is traveling in space at 160km/h, you as a passenger in the car will not feel any vibration at all due to the lack of airflow. To give you another example, a parachute with two pressure relieve holes is more stable and lands faster than a parachute with only one hole. With the appropriate airflow guidance, the swing can become more swift and the ball launch angle more precise.
