Why ACHA Hockey at Oakland University?
The Oakland University Men’s Hockey team participates in the American Collegiate Hockey Association in the Division I ranks. Hockey began at OU in the late 90’s with immediate success, winning two ACHA DII National Titles in 2004 and 2006 and capturing the ACHA DI National Title in 2007. The Grizzlies also won the 2011 GLCHL Playoff Championship. OU Hockey also has a a second team that works much like a feeder team that participates within the American Collegiate Hockey Association Division III system. Oakland Hockey prides itself in playing only the most elite of competition, including NCAA, CIAU and ACHA opponents. OU competes against Penn State University, Ohio University, University of Illinois, Iowa State University, Grand Valley State University,, Davenport University and other elite teams from around the nation.
