Why a signed limited edition lithograph?

0

A lithograph is an artist authorized copy of an original work created by skilled craftsmen. My litho prints are excellent in quality as is the archival paper stock they are printed upon. To create a lithograph, the image is burned onto metal plate. Lithocolour plates are used to press each print individually. After the image has been recreated to the satisfaction of the original artist, the inked plates and the paper are placed in a press and light pressure is used to transfer some of the ink. A colour lithograph might require several different runs with up to four different colour inks; Cyan, Magenta, Yellow & Black. (CMYK) The same paper is placed precisely over the re-inked plates, eventually creating a satisfactory lithograph copy. My litho production numbers are limited and signed by me to donate my approval of them. Many limited edition lithographs maintain a significant value in the art world.
