Why a multi-use building?
With more than thirty community organizations and numerous SROA committees and task forces needing meeting space on a regular basis, conflicts have arisen making it difficult and costly for the association to conduct business. When coupled with the communitys lack of necessary space for larger community functions and events, certain events have to be relocated to outside venues. SROAs annual meeting alone, for example, costs the association upwards of $4,000. With the space for community events such as potlucks uncertain and the export of Sunriver Music Festival events to Bend due to venue costs and availability, the need for such a community-owned facility exists. The architectural team worked hard to size this component to modestly meet the needs of these existing functions, while also incorporating broad functionality in their design to support the other onsite features.
