Why a Jap import?
Well Automatics MX-5’s were not made offically available in the UK, so that coupled with the fact that the Japanise cars have higher spec, (Air-Con, Nardi, leather seats, electric windows, chrome mirrors kick plates etc) and are usually in better condition than a UK example of the same year. The slight disadvantage is there are a few differences to the UK MX-5’s: Windcreen is thinner If it needs replacing you have either find another import screen or replaced the screen and rubber surrond. Number plate Plinth (front) and panel (rear) are a different shape (rear) size (front) than the UK examples. Most companys now carry these import plate sizes, or if it really irritates you, you can replace the rear panel with a UK example.
