Why a Classified Professional Development Program?

0

In today’s fast-changing environments, it is essential that employees be provided the opportunity to grow professionally within the scope of District’s classified employee positions. The California Education Code has addressed the appropriateness of districts in California for providing such opportunities for employees. It is the intent of the Coast Community College District Board of Trustees Coast Federation of Classified Employees to offer such a program of enrichment, support and encouragement to eligible classified employees. This program is intended to best meet the needs of both the individuals and the District. Who is eligible? To be eligible for participation in the Classified Professional Development Program (CPDP), employees must: • Be employed on the District payroll in a permanent classified position (including permanent part-time). • Have completed the initial probationary period of employment. • Meet specific eligibility requirements as outlined in each program.
