Why 50 Cent is a better businessman than rapper?
Rap Superstar 50 Cent has proven to be a better businessman than rapper. Beyond the G-Unit labeled shoes, he’s into books, radio, and of course, the movies. However, what he has done is what I consider nothing new. We’ve seen the scenario before- Rappers with catchy names good enough to put on clothing that can sell. Remember the Wu-Tang Clan? The Wu came out around the early 90s, and was better known for their products than their music. I had the T-Shirt before I had the album. The G-Unit is no different. I’m sure there are people out there right now shouting, “G-G-G-G G-Unit!!!” and only have the shoes…and never picked up an album of 50’s (note: 50 Cent has been an underground rapper for years appearing on mixtapes and such.) 50 also showed his battle skills, or the lack thereof when rival rapper Jadakiss responded to 50’s “Piggybank”. What did 50 do? He resorted back to what he does best-business. Everyone knows he made that track so that people would buy his album.
