Whose phone number and email address should I enter into NetConnect?
The phone number listed on each NetConnect request should be the phone number of the telephone closest to the registered system. FAS Network Operations will use this number to notify a user in rare emergencies in which intrusive network traffic from the system warrants partitioning from the network. The email address listed on each NetConnect request should be that of the Network Contact, or a group email alias that reaches multiple Network IT Contacts. Notification regarding scheduling and completion of requests and/or troubleshooting checks will be sent to this email address. (Contrary to this answer, some Network Contacts enter the user’s email address, and ask the user to plug in, or call them, when they receive notification email. The Network Contact is the best judge of which address to enter, depending on the number of connections, scheduling, and user knowledge.)
