Whose idea was it to honor Gene Upshaw by having NFL football players wear patches reading GU 63?
It was probably decided in a meeting somewhere. However, it isn’t as if it’s an especially creative or one-of-a-kind tribute. Patches are fairly standard for honoring those who have passed away.
