Whose drum-beat is Nick Foa marching to?
The Sunshine Community is advocating for the site to remain as a community space for the following reasons: • Sunshine is badly under-resourced when it comes to open space and is signifantly worse-off compared with the rest of Brimbank. • There is a significant need for community meeting space and youth develoipment facilities, and the Sunvale site is adjacent to the Sunshine Leisure Centre. The potential youth precinct is an opportunity to good to pass up. • There are no other sites in Sunshine that present the same opportunity for conversion to significant parkland • The local community already use Sunvale as a park after school hours due to the large space and play equipment which is superior to any park in Sunshine. Brimbank Councillors have attacked Nick Foa and demanded that they, and the community, have a role in deciding the future use of the site.
