Whos most likely to get injured on the job?
Men under the age of 25 are at the highest risk for workplace injury in BC. In fact, 3 out of every 4 young worker claims are for young men. That’s about 33% higher than BC’s overall injury rate. This means 1 in 21 young men are injured on the job. Comparatively, only 1 in 63 young women are injured at work. One reason for the difference is that young men are often employed in higher risk jobs and, on average, work more hours per week than young women.
