Who’s against LTT?
Outside home developers, Chatham Conservative Voice, and NC Association of Realtors hate LTT and are campaigning hard against it. NC Association of Realtors is a statewide organization with deep pockets. They have an easy job because they only have to target the few counties (like Chatham) who have LTT on the ballot for this November. The NC Association of Realtors has put up this web site against LTT, but it doesn’t report that the site is owned and operated by the NC Association of Realtors. Chatham citizens are already seeing NC Association of Realtors’ mailings. These mailings say “Paid for by Chatham County Coalition for Homeownership.” This is not the popular grass-roots Chatham Coalition – it’s NC Association of Realtors. These mailings say LTT will hurt young families, retirees, and farmers. Of course, young families want the county to spend more to raise the bar in education.
