Who Wrote The Film Bend It Like Beckham?
The film “Bend it like Beckham” that was released in the year 2002 was written by Gurinder Chadha, British director of India Origin. She is very well known for her other movies, ‘Bhaji on the Beach’ that released in 1993 and ‘Bride and Prejudice’ that released in 2004. She has also written the screen play for the movie ‘The Mistress of Spices’. Chadha initially started off as a reporter working for BBC radio, then went on to making several successful award wining documentaries while with BBC. In 1990 she set up her own production company named Umbi films. Due to her outstanding contribution to British cinema she was awarded the ‘Officer of the British Empire’ title in the June of 2006. Other writers on the script include Guljit Bindra and Chadha’s husband Paul Mayeda Berges.
