Winifred Eileen Watson was an English writer and best known for ‘Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day’ novel. The novel is set in London just prior to World War II and is about governess Guinevere Pettigrew and her friendship with American singer/actress Delysia Lafosse. Winifred also wrote novels titled; ‘Fell Top’, ‘Odd Shoes’ and ‘Hope, Step, Jump’.
