The Desktops and the Summer Diaries are written by Arika Mittman, who started out as a Writer’s Assistant on the show, and began producing the Desktops in 1999. Throughout the history of the Desktops, several assistants on the show have also helped with the Desktop writing, including Liz Tigelaar, Holly Henderson, Anna Fricke, and Jason Palmer.
