Who would serve as ASMSUs top officer?
Most notably, the Assembly chairpersons would be replaced by the ASMSU President, an officer directly elected by the students to be the chief executive officer of the organization. The President would chair Student Senate meetings, act as the chief spokesperson of ASMSU, and lead the organization in other ways to be outlined in the Code of Operations. Students would also elect a Vice President, who would assist the President, chair meeting in the President’s absence, and serve as designated Student Senate record keeper. The duties of the Vice President would be similar to those of the current Vice-Chairperson for Internal Affairs. Responsibilities would include serving as a liaison between the Student Senate and class councils, serving as parliamentarian of the Senate, and serving as a liaison between the Office of the President and Senators. The President and Vice President would be running mates, elected jointly on the same ticket. To ensure that candidacy for ASMSU President or Vice
