Who would pay to build JAX—Florida?
The Florida legislature has earmarked $130 million over the next three years for construction and operating expenses. The state requires that $130 million in matching funds be provided by Collier County. Those county funds would be used to build, equip and operate the institute during the initial, start-up phase. In addition, The Jackson Laboratory would raise about $120 million in philanthropy during first several years of operation.
