Who would have suspected the least-known celebrity with the worst scores would get kicked off Dancing with the Stars first?
Even Loveline co-host Mike Catherwood was hardly surprised when host Tom Bergeron called his name tonight, after an interminable results show that mostly showed the dancers with the worst judges scores also did badly with viewers. Thanking everyone but his mom in a speech that seemed well-prepared, Catherwood came off about as well as possible for a guy who barely fit either noun in the show’s title. More surprising than Catherwood’s exit — and Wendy Williams’ exit next week, if she doesn’t up her game — was the show’s treatment of musical guest Chris Brown. Rather than risk their dressing rooms and a spot at the top of TMZ’s breaking news report, producers wisely decided to let Brown do what he does best, avoiding any interview segments while letting him dance through two lipsynched numbers.
