Who would be more sympathetic to the Christians of Bethlehem?
Arab Christians in Israel are kind of in between a rock and a hard place. I would say they naturally side with their Muslim brothers when it comes to Israel; though, they do not engage in violence, and I don’t think any of the suicide bombers have been Christians. Though, they do tend to clash, a lot more than you would think, with their Muslim brothers. In Nazareth (also a Muslim majority), there was a Mosque that the Muslims wanted to be built, because it was Saladin’s nephew’s tomb or something. The problem: It was next to the Church of the Annunciation (you know, where Mary heard Gabriel the archangel speak to her about Jesus’ birth) and was planned to be bigger than that Church. You can probably guess whose side those Christians were when Israel destroyed the little they managed to build of that mosque. Also, there is popular graffiti in some places which states “Sunday comes after Saturday”, so I wouldn’t call the Christians 100% welcome. And, recently there have been accusations
seriously i am afraid for christians… many of them see israel as the problem, however slowly slowly the truth is coming out in western countries where muslims are allowed to settle and also if you look at nearly all muslim countries in the world christians are either killed or persecuted…eg. egypt, where christians are only allowed to live in an area that is for all of the rest of cairo to dump their trash, no churches are allowed to be built, saudi arabia does not allow any christian worship, the sudanese christians have almost been exterminated. these are not special cases unfortunately the western world is in for a huge shock… countries like france, germany, switzerland etc where they have allowed large muslim immigration are just starting to understand. in australia, the muslim population ( which is a minority) is pushing to ban christmas carols, all christmas decorations and paraphanalia in any public place as they find it offensive.
