Who won the Freshmeat challenge on MTV?
Music Television, or more commonly referred to as MTV is a television network launched in August of 1981 and was originally a 24/7 music video network. The “vj” was popularized through MTV’s use of jockeys introducing and playing music videos, when the network originally launched it had five VJs. MTV has influenced many aspects of the music industry and pop culture through it’s programming throughout the years and has built the career of many famous musicians. In the 90’s MTV began introducing reality shows, such as “The Real World” and eventually strayed away from only playing music videos, allowing room for reality and scripted programming.
