Who will win the Grammy 4 Best Alternative Music Album?
1) The Grammy Awards do not actually matter, as it is basically an event for the record industry to congratulate itself for another year of album sales. 2) The most deserving album of those listed, I believe, is Volta. 3) Either The White Stripes or Arcade Fire are going to win because, simply, it is about marketability and sales (see #1 above), and while I wouldn’t be too upset if Neon Bible won considering it’s actually a solid album with just a bit too much acclaim, Icky Thump is just the standard 1/4 hits, 3/4 filler formula the Stripes have always been stuck in that prevents them from having a good all-around album. They need to toss the chaff and just make EPs or something.
