Who will replace Steve Jobs as head of Apple?
Tim Cook: * He stood in for Steve when he had pancreatic cancer surgery * He’s responsible for their amazing supply chain, inventory etc, which people forget is a key part of their profitability * He played a big part in the last keynote – a way of introducing him to the press and public; Schiller and Ive were there for other reasons. * It’s a mistake to try and replace Steve Jobs – you can’t. Apple has a lot of talent (Ive for example) that can continue the work; instead they need a smart guy to oversee them. Schiller can dance around on stage at keynotes. In any case Apple is likely rethinking the way they introduce new products. Steve Jobs could well become chairman and consult on products to ease the transition and investors fears.
