If you are currently a member of USS, you will be able to participate in PensionPlus. You will not be able to participate in PensionPlus however if it would bring your actual salary to below the Lower Earning Limit (currently £5,044 per annum) or below the National Minimum Wage. The National Minimum Wage is currently £5.80 per hour (to increase to £5.93 from October 2010) for somebody over the age of 21, or around £10,556 per annum (£10,793 from October 2010) for an employee working a standard 35-hour week. We will monitor pay levels and advise you if you are likely to be affected, however if your circumstances change and you think you might fall into any of these two categories you should contact Gavin Hawkins (8076) or Frances Galbraith (8077) in the Payroll and Pensions Department.
