The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) is the federal government agency that regulates both the construction of interstate natural gas pipelines and storage facilities as well as the transportation of natural gas in interstate commerce. OGS is currently participating in FERC’s voluntary National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Pre-Filing Process for the KEH Project. Other federal agencies, including the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), and the DOT’s Pipeline & Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) will also review relevant parts of the project. In addition, a number of local and state agencies have been invited to participate in the planning and permitting of the KEH Project.
