Who will know that I am attending therapy at Quo Vadis?
Therapists are bound by laws and codes of ethics concerning your confidentiality. Your therapist will not share anything about you with anyone else unless you have given written authorization for your therapist to do so. These instances would likely be few, and would usually take place in an effort to coordinate your care with other professionals. There are also rare events where a therapist is required by law to break confidentiality, such as if you pose a serious threat of harm to yourself or someone else. Many clients choose not to tell other people about the fact that they attend therapy because they fear how others will perceive them. This feeling is understandable and will be respected by your therapist, however, no one should be deterred from or feel shameful about getting help when they need it.
