LaCour was forced to sit out last season and is hungry to regain his old position but you can expect Erxleben to battle hard to keep the job. Both players have been impressive so far in training camp and that position will be hotly contested as we move closer to the season opener against SMU. ANOTHER PEAK JOINS THE SQUAD Texas Tech football added another “Peak” to the squad today as Nubian Peak, a freshman transfer from Virginia Tech, joined his brother Tahrick. Tahrick, who will be a true freshman, was granted a release from Virginia Tech and began practice over the weekend while his brother Nubian could hit the practice field as soon as Tuesday. Nubian was a receiver at Virginia Tech during his redshirt year but he will be converted to a defensive back here at Texas Tech under coordinator James Willis.
